In the mid-1980s, I did a Bible search of the things that we are commanded to pray.
The list is short, but powerful. Feel free to share this as you see fit.
1. Ask the lord of the harvest to send out his laborers into the harvest, that it would be good and plentiful. (Matt. 9:38; Luke 10:2)
2. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. (Psalm 122:6)
3. Pray that our flight will not be in winter or on the Sabbath. (Matthew 24:20)
(I believe that this one is much more mystical and prophetic than what most preachers proclaim. Most talk about travel in the winter being difficult. I believe that it has to do with a specific date in the End Times, when there will be severe persecution of the few Christians that are still faithful by then.)
4. Pray for your family, especially your children. (This one does not have a specific verse. Rather, it is an example all through the Bible. The most notable examples are Noah, Job, and David.)
5. Pray for those in authority, for their wisdom and righteousness, so that we may live peaceful lives in all godliness and tranquility. (1st Timothy 2:1-2)
6. Pray for your enemies. (Matthew 5:44-46)
