This is a short, but powerful, story of God’s favor and protection.
The backstory began 18 months ago (Aug 2024), when I founded this online church.
Within two weeks of launching this Web site, I got a tweet on “X” from a man in Iran.
The man had been visited by Jesus in a dream. Jesus reached out a nail-scarred hand to him, and the man renounced his lifelong Muslim faith immediately. After waking up, he prayed for guidance, and then he found this site — literally within the hour.
He had questions about the Holy Bible, and I had answers. We began a dialogue, which led to a friendship. I am his pastor, even though we are half a world apart and have never met in person.
He is a native Persian. (I will call him “Mr. Farz”.) He is in his mid-30s, well-educated, and he speaks at least three languages. I cannot release much more information about him, lest that could make him a target.
He was not a “member” of the Iranian Resistance Movement, although he did yearn for freedom. But, on the way home from work, he got caught in the middle of an uprising. Police rushed in and began shooting people indiscriminately. People were dying all around him.
The Holy Spirit prompted Mr. Farz to catch the people as they were falling. He was laying them out on the sidewalk in a respectful manner, rather than leave them lying in a clump. Bullets were whizzing all around him. He said that there was a literal “river of blood” in the streets.
But, Mr. Farz was not harmed at all — not even a scratch. God protected him in the midst of that slaughter. He said that it was a true miracle. Glory to God.
